Install a 10 inch filter housing with a carbon block filter cartridge on the hose feeding your washing machine to avoid staining of your clothes and linen by dirty water. The carbon block will filter solid dirt particles to 10 micron and will also remove colour from the water.
Below is a picture of carbon block cartridges. The one on the left is one that we removed from a filter on a washing machine. The one on the right is a new one. Rather have all that dirt on the cartridge than on your white linen!!! These are very easy to install and cost only R430. It can also be installed on an ice machine and other appliances that require clean water.
